The Traffic News Channel was created as an initiative by the Transportation Research Board (TRB) Committee on Traffic Flow Theory and Characteristics (ACP50). The channel started as a newsletter (the ACP50 newsletters) that was distributed to the ACP50 members and friends to increase the engagement and the collaboration among the traffic flow research community. With time, several community members have encouraged the ACP50 newsletter editor to translate such initiative into a more established structured "channel" in order to increase our audience size and to share traffic-related news, research publications, positions, and achievements.
